Can't afford a trip to Korea? Come here.
The place was packed at about 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Everyone speaking Korean. The proprietor hands us a menu - wanted to make sure we weren't looking for bulgoki I guess.
We sit down order up gamja tang and a sort of beef ramen soup. Panchan are limited - some kimchee and kkakdugi. Some tables received a third item - but I thought it was just scallions for the soup.
Cold barley tea. And then the gamja tang - huge bony pieces, tender meat falling off into the spicy potato soup. I've never met a gamja tang I didn't like, but this one is better than most. The stock in the ramen is good, but the noodles could be better I suppose.
The proprietor smiles as we show our appreciation for her food. The bill is smaller than in Flushing - I can't think of anything that comes close for the price. Soondae next time. -

What a FANTABULOUS find! A group of friends and I discovered this place on Google Maps while searching for restaurants to eat at in Fort Lee last night and we were immediately hooked on the photos of their delicious guk () aka Korean stew.
We went at around 8pm and sadly, most of their menu items were sold out (which showed how popular they are with the locals), so we got their Kimchi Jjigae, Soondae Guk, and Haenentang. I was able to try all the stews we ordered and damn... all the stews were packed with SO much flavor and all the meat and veggies were so fresh and delicious. They also give you so much food for such a low price compared to NYC prices (my Soondae Guk was around $11 and I couldn't finish my meal). Definitely worth the trek.
I need to come back to try their Jokbal, since they ran out when we got there... I saw other people eating it and it looked so delectable... But I would definitely come back next time I'm ever in the Fort Lee area. So so delicious! Highly recommend!! -

The best Korean Stews are served right here. Busan Gukbap is known for their Gamja Tangs along with their infamous Gukbaps. They have a small menu and you honestly can't go wrong with any of the options they offer. Everything on the menu is very authentic and great quality. Keep in mind that most of the dishes on the menu are generously portioned.
You can instantly taste that all the broths that are served with the stews are simmered for a long time. Before your order is served, they provide three small complimentary side dishes (kimchi, asian shives, and radish).
I would recommend having dinner here and heading to Hmart for some Korean groceries. Yes, Hmart is nearby!
FAVORITES
*Gamja Tang (This stew is spicy and can feed up to two)
*Soondae Gukbap (Keep in mind soondae is korean blood sausage)
*Jokbal aka pigs feet (Huge portion) -

Had a deliciously homey and authentic meal here, and I especially loved it on a cold, chilly spring day.
The restaurant itself is very small, probably ideal for groups of 2-4, but my group of 6 managed to snag a table after about 15 min of waiting. The menu is simple and straightforward - you can choose from a variety of individual-sized Korean soups, larger share-able hot pots, and several meat platters.
I tried Soon Dae Guk (Korean sausage with ox bone soup) and loved it. The dish came with generous amounts of tender pork slices and sausages; I was actually surprised that I kept finding more as I dug deeper! The broth was also so flavorful that I ended up finishing the soup before the meats in it (oops). But yep, that's how tasty the broth was.
My friends and I also shared the jokbal, which is a tasty serving of pig trotters. Sounds a little strange at first (especially when translated), but this dish is always a crowd favorite.
Service was okay, felt a bit rushed at times, but all-in-all a very enjoyable meal. -

Since I moved to NY, I always come here every time i go to NJ. They never disappoint me! Although there is waiting time but it is always worth of it.
